Michael Carrick Warns Manchester United About Hull City Challenge in Premier League Opener

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has warned his players not to underestimate Hull City ahead of their Premier League opening-day clash on Saturday.

Hull City have strengthened their squad significantly following their promotion to the Premier League, bringing in 11 new players during the summer. Among the most notable arrivals are goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis and defender Nobel Mendy, with both reportedly costing around £20 million.

Carrick, however, strongly disagrees.

“A newly promoted team at home is always a very difficult opponent,” he explained. “I have experienced these games before, so I know exactly how challenging they can be. We have to be mentally and physically ready because if we are not at our best, we can make things difficult for ourselves.”

Manchester United will therefore enter the opening fixture knowing that a strong start will be essential. Carrick’s message is clear: Hull City’s promotion momentum, new signings and home support could make Saturday’s match a serious test for the Red Devils.
