Marcus Rashford Makes Shirt Number Decision After Matheus Cunha Takes No. 10

Marcus Rashford is set to return to Manchester United without asking for his old No. 10 shirt back, despite previously wearing the iconic number for several seasons.

The England forward has spent the past 18 months away from Old Trafford, featuring on loan for Aston Villa before joining Barcelona. Although Barcelona had an opportunity to make his move permanent, the Spanish club ultimately decided against exercising that option.

As Rashford now returns to Manchester United, he faces a small but notable change regarding his squad number. The academy graduate previously wore the No. 10 shirt after taking it ahead of the 2018/19 campaign. Before that, he had played in the No. 39 and No. 19 shirts.

However, the No. 10 is now occupied by Brazilian attacker Matheus Cunha, who took the shirt following his move to Manchester United from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

According to reports from The Sun, Rashford is not expected to request the number back and will instead respect Cunha’s position within the squad. The forward is reportedly likely to take the No. 14 shirt, which he wore during his spell at Barcelona.

Rashford’s decision could be seen as a sign of his willingness to begin a new chapter at Manchester United, while Cunha continues his journey wearing the prestigious No. 10.
